Andrew is a highly skilled creative designer, pre-press and pre-production professional, with a proven entrepreneurial flair. He is a natural team leader, manager and successful small business owner, with over 20 years’ industry experience.
Andrew began as a pre-press apprentice in 1994 with Show-Ads Brisbane, then Australia’s leading pre-press house. During this time, he was thoroughly trained in all aspects of pre-press, gaining his knowledge and experience from the “old-school” skills of combining film separations. Andrew values this training very highly, and uses these skills to create better, more accurate print-ready artwork, something he has done throughout his career. After 10 years working as a pre-press manager for a number of Queensland printing companies, Andrew felt the need to broaden his experience and knowledge, and to explore new areas within the industry. He therefore took the decision to become an independent freelance graphic designer and formed his own company.
In 2005, Andrew was approached by Flight Centre to take up the position of Lead Artworker for Flight Centre Limited (FCL). He personally managed the digital assets, templates and brand look and feel for FCL’s 10+ retail brands globally. In this role, which spanned in excess of 4 years, Andrew was required to recreate all logo libraries and to template all flyers, press advertisements and catalogues so they were brand consistent and print compliant across all Flight Centre brands worldwide. He was also charged with the responsibility of regular tutorials in best practice methods when designing and creating files for print, for Flight Centre’s 30+ studio staff.
During his time at FCL, Andrew identified a real opportunity to start a specialised business that could help companies save money by producing their artwork in-house. In 2008, Andrew began producing material for Bank of Queensland (BOQ), and this led to the establishment of Creative Integration.
